Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 2026
SoCal Clean Water is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about our water treatment services, and we are actively working to improve the accessibility of our site.
Our Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility, and the benchmark referenced in ADA accessibility requirements.
What We've Done
Steps we have taken to make our site more accessible include:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3)
- All images include descriptive alt text
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums throughout the site
- All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) are keyboard navigable
- Form inputs include visible labels and placeholder text
- The site is fully responsive and functional on mobile devices
- Font sizes use relative units to respect browser text size preferences
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
- ARIA labels are used where standard HTML semantics are insufficient
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas we are still working to improve:
The background video/image in the hero section does not have a pause control. Users who prefer reduced motion may find this distracting — we are working to add a prefers-reduced-motion media query to address this.
We are committed to addressing known issues on an ongoing basis.
